Meet Dr. Ankur Mehta
Officially joining the PrimeMyBody Medical Advisory Board earlier this year, Dr. Ankur Mehta is revved up for the Momentum 2019 National Conference. He is looking forward to connecting with the entire PrimeMyBody community, and—as a presenter during the three-day national event—sharing his professional outlook about RECEPT broad spectrum hemp extract as a superior hemp-based wellness product.
“Essentially I’d like to support our Affiliates’ in speaking more confidently about their mission when sharing or promoting the product. I think after listening to the presenters, when they’re back in their communities, they’ll be able to speak more intelligently about the science behind RECEPT,” says Dr. Mehta.
In addition to Dr. Ruan’s clinical studies on RECEPT, Dr. Mehta will speak about RECEPT-specific studies he’s currently organizing for select patients at his clinic, the TX Spine & Joint based in Houston, Texas.
“I want to talk about some preliminary data that Dr. Ruan and I are coming out with, specifically from my practice regarding chronic pain. These studies are for patients experiencing chronic pain, those who have difficulty with simple daily life and how opioids actually make the pain worse over time. What we’re doing is finding a way to use RECEPT to decrease sensitivity to pain for these people,” says Dr. Mehta.
As someone who believes in hemp’s place in wellness and as a health practitioner who receives dozens of different types of hemp products regularly, Dr. Mehta says, “It (RECEPT) is probably the best stuff on the market. In my honest opinion I don’t think there’s anything better out there with this purity and the science behind the way it’s developed,” Dr. Mehta adds.
In addition to studies on RECEPT’s health benefits, Dr. Mehta regularly works with Dr. Ruan to strategize ways to ensure PrimeMyBody’s hemp extract and wellness products standout in both the medical and mainstream communities.
“One of the big things is answering the question, ‘how do we maintain individuality of the brand when CBD and hemp oil shops are more prevalent than Starbucks?’ We’re constantly strategizing to make sure we remain compliant as well as standout,” adds Dr. Mehta.
Dr. Mehta brings to the PMB Medical Advisory Board a holistic and progressive viewpoint about how health can be assessed, restored, and maintained. Dr. Mehta is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is an orthopedic surgeon and the lead physician at TX Spine & Joint. Dr. Mehta is known to combine holistic health philosophies and practices with cutting-edge treatments including platelet-rich plasma, spinal cord stimulation, radio frequency nerve ablation, and vertebral augmentation.
“I’ve always used a holistic approach as a guide, trying to utilize natural treatment options to optimize health for my patients,” says Dr. Mehta.
He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience. He was the chief resident at Loyola University Chicago and received the Department of Orthopedic Surgery Research award. In 2010, Dr. Mehta received the prestigious American Pain Society’s Fellows scholarship. He has also received certification in structural acupuncture from Harvard Medical School.
