Meet Dr. Cheng Ruan: PrimeMyBody Chief Medical Advisor

You’ve seen him at our events and conferences. You’ve heard his medical expertise on training calls and webinars. Now it’s official. We are proud to announce that Dr. Cheng Ruan has been appointed as PrimeMyBody’s Chief Medical Advisor.

Trained and board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Ruan ensures the continued efficacy and authenticity of PrimeMyBody’s product lines and assists in the strategic development of future products.

Applying an unbiased medical approach, Dr. Ruan oversees a number of critical areas, including product safety, evidence-based product testing, as well as quality assurance. A primary objective for Dr. Ruan is the administration and monitoring of clinical trials and studies of present and future PrimeMyBody products. It was with Dr. Ruan’s guidance and insight that we were able to calculate how to best create RECEPT—our next generation broad spectrum hemp extract that excludes THC and ethanol, yet still delivers fast-acting and long-lasting therapeutic benefits.

Setting the standard for science-based validation in the hemp industry, Dr. Ruan’s clinical trial initiatives will streamline the scientific validation of RECEPT, as well as our complementary wellness product lines. The results of these trials will provide the company and its Affiliates with credibility and validity when sharing and marketing PrimeMyBody products. Dr. Ruan’s clinical trials focus on the proof of effectiveness including primary studies that have yet to be conducted in the cannabidiol and phytocannabinoid industry.

Dr. Ruan will also manage the future PrimeMyBody Medical Advisory Board. Working with appointed medical advisors, he will ensure that endorsements and medical recommendations, for our products, are done so in an evidence-based manner.

Dr. Ruan is the Founder and Chief Physician of the Houston-based Texas Center for Lifestyle Medicine, which is the second largest Integrative Medicine clinic in the U.S. that accepts insurance—second only to the Cleveland Clinic. Specializing in Integrative Medicine, he takes a whole-body approach to health, healing, and wellness. Coming from a medical family background, Dr. Ruan is a professional hybrid of his mother’s eastern medicine practice and his father’s western medical conventions. Rather than viewing those practices as opposing, he regards both as correlative to one another, blending each into his own healing outlook and professional practice. As a long-standing proponent of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Ruan believes the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and environmental factors must be taken into consideration when addressing individual health and wellness.

Dr. Ruan received the Joe Dwek Award for Teacher of the Year as the Chief Resident at New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City. He received his medical doctorate (M.D.) degree from Ross University School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University at College Station.
