There’s something to be said for a father who’s always there for his children. The role a father plays in his children’s lives has a direct impact on their growth and ultimately helps to shape who they become. A devoted dad and PrimeMyBody Affiliate, Kevin Putnam, can certainly attest to that sentiment.
“I speak to this all the time because it’s a big part of my story. For years, I was the only dad in my kid’s schools who would be at every single event. I was the guy among all the moms who was there for the Valentine’s Day parties and Halloween parades. I was able to be there for the stuff most fathers can’t break away from work for or can’t request permission to get away, or frankly can’t afford to get away to go spend 30 minutes with their kids at school. When we get to be present in our family’s lives throughout all events, not just the major ones, then our quality of life is drastically improved,” says Kevin—a PrimeMyBody Bronze Affiliate.
An affiliate marketing pro since 2003, and PrimeMyBody Affiliate since April 2018, Kevin has enjoyed the financial freedom he’s earned as an Affiliate, but more importantly the luxury of being a part of each stage of his two sons’ growth. A “serial entrepreneur”, Kevin has owned a number of different companies over the course of his professional career, including the largest full-service boat rental company in Austin, Texas and an All-State Insurance Agency. While still working with his former network marketing company prior to his introduction to PrimeMyBody, two events shifted Kevin’s mindset and forced him to contemplate his greater purpose.
“Three years ago, I was going through a divorce and had lost my brother to leukemia. I remember looking back while at MD Anderson Cancer Center and trying to figure out what it is I’m on this planet to do. I knew insurance wasn’t fun and needed to find something that could have a real impact in the world. At the time, I had no idea what that was,” adds Kevin.
Not long after, Kevin was introduced to our original hemp oil by PMB Affiliate, Matthew Layman. The circumstances behind that introduction were surprisingly coincidental.
“It’s funny, I had been with one network marketing company prior to PMB and Matt was the one who recruited me all those years ago. Fast forward to 2018 and a buddy of mine said he had a realtor who could help us with leads for the insurance company. We go to happy hour and guess who that realtor is? Matt Layman. Literally 16 years after he recruited me we reconnected. And about three months after that happy hour he called me to talk about PrimeMyBody,” says Kevin—who sold his insurance agency in August of 2018 to go full-time with his PrimeMyBody business.
After trying our hemp oil, researching cannabinoids’ benefits, and listening to stories and testimonials, Kevin knew he had found that greater purpose he had been seeking and realized very quickly the power plant-based health held. With a belief in what hemp could do for the masses and confidence in our high-quality wellness product line, Kevin hit the ground running, charged by a leadership team he was excited to be working with.
“One main reason I’m here in PrimeMyBody is because I’m in love with the people. I’ve never found a better group of like-minded, like-hearted people who have the same vision to make a real impact. I have been in network marketing for 17 years and I remember being pitched and pitched on other companies and every time I stayed where I was because I was having success. But even in my own company, I saw a lot of sliminess. It was just not authentic. Whereas here, it’s a night and day difference,” adds Kevin.
From one-on-one meetups to regional and national events, one of the strongest skill sets Kevin has developed is a knack for explaining simplistically the advantages of our wellness products and business opportunities.
“I’m a firm believer that less is more. Whether it’s about the products or the opportunity, it’s about presenting the right information in the right order at the right time. It has to be palatable to the masses, so simplicity is one of the gifts I have where I can speak to pretty much anybody, anywhere, anytime and get across the concept in a manner people can relate to.”
An upcoming presentation Kevin is pumped to participate in is our nationwide Super Saturday taking place simultaneously in five cities on December 7th. As a co-host of the Austin Super Saturday, Kevin said he’s honored to organize the event and present on stage with some of PMB’s finest Affiliate leaders.
“Austin is going to be the biggest, baddest Super Saturday in the country,” he adds (with a little hometown bias). “This is really about getting people to grasp the concept of what network marketing is and what it can be for everybody. I want to see people get into production and off the starting line. That’s what we’re going to focus on in Austin. I can’t wait.”
When asked why it’s important for new and existing Affiliates to attend events like our Super Saturday, Kevin says, “Knowledge is key. Relationships are key. I attend every major event and every training and opportunity meeting that I can possibly get to, no excuses. You can’t achieve your goals by showing up once a quarter or only when it’s convenient. That’s called a hobby. In our world, I think the important part of the regionals is sharing the stories, listening to the stories, and creating relationships that will help build your belief and the skills necessary to truly make whatever dreams that you have come true.”
