Meet Cheri Mencke, PrimeMyBody Affiliate
A longtime nutritionist and gymnastic coach based in Arizona, Cheri was brought up with the understanding that anything to do with the hemp plant was taboo and a no-no. However, just a few years ago, after an extreme health condition devastated Cheri’s daily life she reassessed her opinion of hemp. With an open mind and after tons of research, Cheri transitioned from intrigued to ecstatic about hemp oil after experiencing firsthand the health results it brought to her life and the lives of her family.
Prior to building her PrimeMyBody business, Cheri had no experience in affiliate or network marketing. She spent time with us recently to discuss what attracted her to PrimeMyBody, why she loves the community here, and the steps she’s taken to create her own thriving hemp business.
You’ve been a PrimeMyBody Affiliate for nearly two years. What excites you about the PrimeMyBody community and culture?
It excites me that we’re growing a community of the kindest, but fiercest, most enlightened people on this planet. What excites me is seeing people—and I’ve witnessed this multiple times—who are literally on their knees praying for an alternative to pharmaceuticals, who have such a life-changing experience with our products. I’ve been there. I’ve been in the place where I was desperate and so sick. I know what it feels like to be in that place. And for me to be able to offer a tool or resource that can offer a complete life change, that excites me.
The hemp-derived CBD market is forecasted to grow from a $600 million to $22 billion industry in the U.S. by 2022. What are your thoughts on hemp oil’s rise in popularity?
I’ve had so many conversations about this recently. I was in Akumal and heard the figures, and it just turned on a light bulb for me. I’m not a big numbers person, but when I heard those figures and how it broke down that we were 10 percent of that and this is where we could be going, it was astounding to me.
Having conversations with people, their eyes light up, and they say it’s something they’d like to look at. There’s definitely a component of FOMO when you start to truly understand the explosion and power of this plant to solve so many of our planet’s problems. Hemp is an incredible industry to get your foot in the door because if you don’t someone else will, and you’ll miss out on one of the biggest revolutions of our lifetime.
What does it take to have success in affiliate marketing?
Having never done this before, I had people tell me to make sure you plug in. I plugged in and connected, and made sure I showed up. Something I learned being a gymnast for 15 years is commitment. Things will not always be perfect; people will disappoint us, there’s boring days, there’s days when life events are pressing in—especially if you’re a mom and have many events that may interfere with your business. But commitment keeps you coming back and keeps you open to growth.
The other thing is learning from others around you who are more experienced in this industry. Watch what they do, but one caveat is not to compare yourself…because I really think that robs you of your own piece in the journey. So, watch what others do, learn what others do, but don’t compare. If we’re open and willing to grow and to be uncomfortable and make mistakes… we can be really successful at this. There are so many ways to use your individual gifts to build your business.
If you could go back and advise yourself to do something a little differently when beginning your PMB business what would that be?
I would say—and this may be because I came in when the company was so young—not to focus on the present, momentary struggles. When you can see the big picture of where you’re going and the big vision, I think that’s most important. So, try not to get stuck in the details. There’s actually a Bible verse I love that says the same thing. It’s 2 Corinthians 4:17 that says, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” Keeping your eyes on the prize and on the end result is really important.
What are your thoughts on our broad spectrum hemp extract, RECEPT, and its recent release?
Oh, I cannot wait to try it. I love that we’re staying ahead of the trends. I’ve been researching CBG and what it does in our body. I think this is really going to up the game of our products. I love that there isn’t any ethanol too, so we don’t have to worry about the addiction community. And it’s zero THC…you love to see that. Having Dr. Ruan behind this and directing the clinical studies is amazing. This (RECEPT) is going to really solidify our place in the market.
