Okay. So you’ve researched each network marketing business opportunity up and down, right and left, done your homework, and you’re getting impatient. “I’m ready to START, already!”, you say.

Problem is, you still haven’t decided which of all the multi level marketing businesses would be most likely to allow YOU to reach MLM success.

But you probably have it narrowed down, right? And you probably know a lot of the criteria that would define the best MLM company for your situation.

Well, let me give you a network marketing tip today.

That final decision usually comes down to networking… surprise, surprise!

Most of the successful network marketers today initially found sources of information about MLM that they trusted… persons or books or websites.

They looked into the multi level marketing companies that were offered by those sources of information, and if one of them met the criteria they had decided they wanted for their own business, they took a small leap of faith and decided to try it.

Multi level marketing is a very people-oriented profession (network marketing). It only makes sense to trust people to help you make this hugely daunting decision a little more manageable. Of course you need to be careful, especially on the internet, but don’t be overly paranoid when you do encounter trustworthy people. Use your common sense to judge if the information seems to be well balanced and likely to be truthful.

Direct Selling of Your Product

Too many network marketers ignore direct selling of their MLM product and foolishly focus exclusively on recruiting a downline, thinking that this is where the big money is. And in a way, that’s true, but only if you are excellent at recruiting.

Most are not very good at recruiting and don’t try to learn how to be. Those who do, but who neglect selling their network marketing product while they learn to recruit, risk postponing the gratification of earning any income from their new multi level marketing businesses for so long that they often completely give up on the business too soon.

If you obtain repeat customers, preferably on monthly automatic shipments, you create a steady income stream for yourself that will slowly grow while you seek and find the best MLM training for you to learn to be a better recruiter to eventually build your downline.

So where do you get an MLM sales lead ?

Many a network marketing product is developed with baby boomers and health care in mind, since so much of the population falls into that group and is interested in wellness products. So many people are natural customers for these products.

If you have a home party business, home party sales will be a built-in way that you accomplish your direct selling.

If your network marketing product is not very expensive, you can target businesses to buy them as corporate holiday gifts, such as corporate Christmas gifts.

You can approach fundraising groups to use your network marketing product for a successful fundraiser.

A byproduct of your selling efforts will eventually, indirectly, be direct sales recruiting. A small percentage of your customers will become interested on their own, in their own time, in joining you in your network marketing business.

So keep you eyes open for sales opportunities all the time.

You’ve decided that MLM opportunities are most likely to be your LADDER TO SUCCESS.

Now how do you choose?

Many, if not most, network marketers decided on their company because their sponsor introduced them to a great MLM product or they discovered one on their own. They became a loyal customer, and then became attracted to the idea of making money by sharing it with others.

So look for a network marketing product that sounds great to you and buy one to try it out.

Some network marketers become dissatisfied with their company or its product or the structure of the compensation plan. But they believe in the proven potential for great success in network marketing, so they start to look at other network marketing companies.

Others… myself included… are simply excited enough about more than one MLM product or opportunity that they become a distributor for more than one company.

There’s usually no problem with this, unless the two companies’ products are similar. Being a distributor for both companies, in that situation, will probably be a violation of one or both companies’ Policies & Procedures. Even if it wouldn’t actually be breaking any written rule, though, my opinion is that it might ethically be a bit of a sticky situation, because it might be very hard to keep your loyalties straight.

There are also some companies with policies that are SO restrictive that their distributors are simply NOT PERMITTED to be a distributor for any other network marketing company. Always read the Policies & Procedures… long, boring, and legalistic though they may be.

There are experts in the network marketing industry who insist that network marketers should NOT be involved in more than one company. I disagree. I follow in the footsteps of one of PrimeLife, by placing my prospects’ needs first. If my prospect believes in the value of network marketing in general, and if we eventually decide that she would benefit from a network marketing business, I like to be able to offer more than one of the many MLM opportunities that are out there, rather than referring her to friends in other network marketing companies that would better meet her needs… although I have done this! It’s not crazy, or suicidal for my business. Those other MLM friends will return the favor. The important thing is finding a great match for every prospect.

If you’re Googling ” What is MLM ?”, someone you know has probably asked you to buy something that they’re crazy about and that they think “everyone” should buy.

They may have asked you to join the company, too, so that you can buy it at a lower cost.

This is NOT a scam or an illegal “pyramid scheme”. It’s a perfectly legal, legitimate business proposition that may or may not be right for you.

Donald Trump, Warren Buffett, and Robert Kiyosaki (author of Rich Dad Poor Dad) don’t ask ” What is MLM ?”.

My point is, these men know that MLM is a legitimate work from home business opportunity.

A network marketing company markets its products through its distributors, who find their customers by networking with people. This serves as free advertising for the company… a cost savings that the company passes back to its distributors as commissions and bonuses.

Network marketing distributors also use networking to interest others in becoming new distributors.

That’s “what is network marketing”.

A distributor gets paid on commission for the products that she sells… and also for the products that are sold by newer distributors that she has brought into the business… and newer distributors that they have brought into the business… multiple levels of income.

That’s ” what is MLM (multi level marketing) “.

This differs from pure Direct Selling companies, in which the representatives buy products and sell them at a profit, period. A well known example of non-MLM direct selling is Mary Kay products.

Examples of multi level marketing companies are Xango, Monavie, Mannatech, Xocai, Yoli, and Shaklee, to name just a few.

MLM is a legitimate work from home business… an exciting, serious, and increasingly popular business model, taught at the university level! (but university not required or needed to succeed.)

For Robert Kiyosaki (author of the long-running best-selling book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”) and Donald Trump network marketing is prestigious enough that they both recently endorsed network marketing in an article in Success Magazine.

Warren Buffet (almost the richest American) recently bought a network marketing company. He knows ” what is network marketing “. And need I say that he knows how to invest? What better endorsement for network marketing success ?
